About Geeky Journalist

It all begins with a boy and his dream …

Geeky Journalist was born out of a brainstorming session between the OG geeks, Rob and Jake. They were thinking some kind of tech page with helpful information about how to get the most out of the Web would be a service people would like.

Then we decided to narrow the focus a bit more. We see journalists struggle constantly with making the transition to the Web. For some, it’s fear of technology. For others, it’s fear of how we’ll be able to make money (don’t worry, we have a good, healthy dose of that one too).

We wanted to help journalists get over the fears and learn how technology can save them time, help them tell better stories and better connect with online news consumers. A blog with helpful tips is just the start. We have a billion ideas for this site, and — in typical journalist fashion — not enough time to do them all.

Hopefully you’ll find some use out of what we do have the time to blog.

We’re always looking for contributors, too. Drop us a line at geeks@GeekyJournalist.com or follow us on Twitter: @GeekyJournalist
